João Menezes is a Portuguese singer and guitar player, currently living in London and studying Jazz at the acclaimed Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Since his arrival in London he has studied with musicians such as: John Parricelli, Colin Oxley, Mike Outram, Ife Tolentino, Barak Schmool, Gareth Lockrane, and had masterclasses with Jonathan Kreisberg, Jeff “Tain” Watts and Elliot Mason. João has always had a passion for Brazilian music, but it was not until he started studying at the Guildhall School that he invested in Bossa Nova and started exploring its rich harmony in a more in-depth way. His main influences are João Bosco, João Gilberto, Gilberto Gil and Tom Jobim, between many others that are part of his repertoire.
